About Becca

My passion is to empower mature adults in the Oakland/East Bay area to move with freedom building their strength and flexibility, confidence, expanding their physical limitations so that they can find their personal power.

I have always been a very active person, from dancing, yoga, hiking, skiing, horseback riding. I became a personal trainer after an injury from falling off my horse. After a year of chronic hip pain, I had a hip repair surgery (labrum tear) and had to rebuild my body from the ground up. I worked with an amazing trainer/yoga teacher who helped me not just rebuild myself, but inspired me to become a trainer and a yoga teacher. After my recovery, I found sitting for long periods of time was not an option for me professionally as I still get stiff from sitting too long (even from watching a movie) and I wanted to do more to help others who are suffering as much as I had suffered. I have been a trainer for 5 years with over 5000 session hours helping people with weight loss, loss of mobility due to past injuries, stroke survivors, amputees, and people who just want to get in shape . I started at 50, after many years doing many different things, from high tech project management, business development and horse massage therapist.

I attended an online program called National Academy of Sports Medicine to get my certification, and then continued with my education to get certified as a Corrective Exercise Specialist, as well as a Senior Fitness Specialist. I want to work with individuals that have issues, that can’t just watch a video and be transformed, but have issues that need to be worked on whether it is old injuries, weight loss, balance, postural issues. The most rewarding part of what I do is to move them through (physically and mentally) what has been holding them back from achieving their goals and make them feel better.

I just completed my Yoga Teacher Training program with Yoga Farm out of Ithica NY during the pandemic, and can now offer Yoga classes as part of my offering to empower people to make the choice of fitness in their lives.
